Dear Home-Options Applicant
"Please note from bidding cycle 57 (7th May) we have made changes to the Home-Options bidding system. When you logon to your Home-Options account you will only see those properties you are eligible to bid for. This will provide you with a more accurate picture of the accommodation available to you and will help you to identify those properties you can make bids on.
You will be able to see all properties as usual in pdf format by clicking “Latest Property List” on the homepage of Home-Options.
If you experience problems when trying to bid for properties please contact your local Home-Options Office.”
Helping you find a new home
Home-Options gives you more choice about where you want to live. In the past your Council or landlord decided where and when you would be offered a home. Now you will have the chance to choose.
Existing Council, and Housing Association tenants who would like to transfer to a home can use Home-Options to find one. This also includes homeseekers who are people on the housing register or who are homeless.
Every fortnight Home-Options produces a free property sheet, which advertises most of the available Council and Housing Association homes. You can look at the adverts and decide whether you want to be considered for any of the properties. You express your interest in properties by making a bid for them.
A summary of who can bid for properties and how to bid can be found on this website in Scheme Guide Section.
To get a new home you will have to bid for a property that is advertised. The Councils and Housing Associations in the Home-Options scheme will not allocate empty properties to people who have not bid through the Home-Options scheme.
Home-Options gives you more choice about where you want to live and it also gives you a better idea of what is available in your area.
In each edition you can see how homes in the previous bidding cycles were let by turning to the feedback page. You can also see what level of priority the successful bidder had and how long they waited for a new home.
The Home-Options partners include Amber Valley Borough Council, Amber Valley Housing Limited, Dales Housing, Derbyshire Dales District Council, Erewash Borough Council, High Peak Borough Council, High Peak Community Housing and Three Valleys Housing.
If you would like to find out more about Home-Options, or how to use Home-Options to bid for a home you should contact your existing landlord or housing department.
